Environmental impact of water bottles: sustainable Solutions and economic savings

Reducing plastic waste

Eco-friendly water purification systems: a responsible choice

Econature is a project in line with new European directives, opposing the production of plastic materials for food and promoting energy savings. Italy produces approximately 330,000 tons of PET for water bottling each year, a world record for a nation. Sourcing indirectly contributes to the disposal of 200 tons of plastic per year (data growing, updated to December 2017). Therefore, we have decided to adopt a consistent approach, educating employees and customers to limit the use of disposable plastic. With a Sourcing system, each new customer becomes part of a family that helps the planet in the fight against plastic disposal, reducing approximately 7 kg per year.

Environmental benefits of water purification systems usage

Reduced environmental Impact: less use of plastic bottles

HARMFULNESS OF PLASTIC TO THE ENVIRONMENT AND MARINE POLLUTION

In Italy alone, 12 billion liters of water are bottled each year, producing 1.2 million tons of CO2 emissions. Furthermore, contamination from microplastics is significantly altering our diet. Not only because they are present in 93% of bottled water but also because they are ingested by marine animals, which we ourselves consume.

ECONOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL SAVING WITH WATER TREATMENT SYSTEMS

Drinking safe and controlled tap water offers several significant advantages. The economic savings are substantial considering bottled water costs up to 2000 times more than tap water, which is also checked every 24 hours by the Health Authority and is always fresh and direct, whereas bottled water stagnates for many days inside plastic before being consumed. With water treatment systems, Sourcing can improve the taste and odor of the water, enhancing the sensory properties of domestic water and making it the best choice from every perspective.
